Janos
Bruneel
(°1983, Antwerp, Belgium)
Janos plays a significant role in all of his bands.
Before even knowing the alphabet he starts playing the piano, but it’s
only a age 16 he discovers his instrument: the bass. In 2008 he
graduates cum laude at the Royal Conservatories of both The Hague and
Brussels with Hein van de Geyn, Frans van der Hoeven and Christophe
Wallemme. From 2009 on he is teaching double bass at the Royal
Conservatoire of The Hague.
He obtained numerous national and international recognitions:
- First Price “National Contest for Music and Spoken Word of the Dexia
bank” (B) in 2001 with “Vice Versa”
- First Price “Octave de la musique” (B) in 2004 with “Casimir Liberski
Trio”
- First Price “Dutch Jazz Competition” (NL) in 2004 with “As Guests”
- First Price “Pim Jacobs Muziekprijs” (NL) in 2004 with “As Guests”
- First Price “XL Jazz” (B) in 2006 with “Casimir Liberski Trio”
- “Top Talent Scholarship” in 2006
- First Price “Jazzcat Rally” in 2007 with DelVita Group
- First Price “Concours Playfestival Motives For Jazz” (B) in 2007 with
“Hamster Axis Of The One-Click Panther”
- First Price “Jazz Concours Dinant” (B) in 2008 with “Hamster Axis Of
The One-Click Panther”
Janos
played concerts in Holland, Belgium, Finland, Canada, Italy, France,
Switzerland, Germany, Dubai, Czech Republic and Slovakia and on stages
and festivals such as North Sea Jazz Festival, Jazz à Liège, Brussels
Jazz Marathon, Gaume Jazz Festival, Dubai Jazz Festival, The Hague Jazz
Festival, Concertgebouw
